Sights words are words that young children learn to recognize by sight instead of trying to sound them out. For young readers, these are commonly words like 'the', 'and', 'to', 'be', and so on. Learning and memorizing sight words is fun and can grow the confidence of kids because they can start to recognize more and more words on their path to writing. They will also help the child become a faster reader.
With all of that in mind, we thought, "How great would it be to teach our kids some Bible sight words?" These would be a few words that we would want kids to recognize as soon as they see them. Words that we could teach our children how to read them and what they mean in. So we picked out 10 Bible sight words to teach young kids (generally ages 4 - 6) to help them on their learning and reading journey. These words are:
- God
- Jesus
- Bible
- Faith
- Love
- Hope
- Peace
- Sing
- Pray
- Church

Word Scramble
This would be a more advanced option once your kid starts to get the hang of the sight words. Jumbling the order of the letters would be quite tricky for a young learner. But once they really learn their sight words, they can try their hand at unscrambling them!
